Research Interests
• Application-oriented remote sensing of geomorphological and hydrological dynamics in polar and subpolar terrestrial environments
• Climate change impacts on the terrestrial Cryosphere, in especially on permafrost and ice cover of inland water bodies
• Feedbacks of the terrestrial Arctic to the global climate system via the carbon cycle
• Spatial analysis of geomorphological, geological, and hydrological processes in cold climate regions
• Paleo-environmental reconstruction of cold-climate landscape dynamics
