About Me

I am applying space geodesy techniques and developing mathematical methods for determining the changes of the Northern Hemisphere permafrost regions.

My interests in science and mathematics covers topins in Geophysics (Gravity, Geomagnetic Fields and Meteorology), Planetary Sciences and applications of Inverse Theory, Harmonic and Numerical Analysis.

Since I was a young student in Alabama, I had interests in Astronomy and Mathematics, in part due to the writings of Carl Sagan and the NASA Mariner, Pioneer and Viking Missions.

After graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BS in Geology/Mathematics I was hired by the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA), Topographic-Hydrographic Center, Department of Defense in the early build-up in modernization toward global Geographic Information Systems supporting operations by US and NATO. After the successful missions, Operations Desert Shield & Desert Storm (now referred to as Gulf War I) and others I rose to the rank of Senior Cartographer within the Digital Products Department. Later I decided that to further my science interests and career I left DMA for graduate research and studies in Ohio and lastly in Alaska. During my time at the University of Akron I was a participant in the NSF Summer in Japan Program 1997. I now hold degrees of Master of Science Geophysics from the University of Akron, Ohio and Doctor of Philosophy Geophysics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Since becoming a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Geophysical Institute I am now reviving my interests in Mars due to the exciting findings by recent ESA and NASA missions.
